No time for inconsistency.

I just don’t get it. How can I do nine blog posts one day and only manage to do one the next day? The anchors at One Minute News don’t have time to be inconsistent. Most of them do up to ten stories a day and on top of that they have a deadline to consider. It takes me about forty to fifty minutes to write one blog post. That’s too long. I asked around and figured on average that it takes most anchors about thirty minutes to write a story. Some of the more experienced ones take about twenty! Now, that’s discouraging for me but highly impressive on their part. I asked Krittika the other day to see if it is better to be fast at writing stories or to take a little extra time and make them fun and interesting. She replied, “Both! Make them good and fast!” That made me laugh, but she’s right and hopefully with time it will get easier. I admire that everyone here can work at such a fast pace and still manage to stay witty. I’ve got a lot of work to do if I want to keep of with these rock-stars.

Shadowing the crew.

I shadowed Krittika Chatterjee today to see what it takes to be an Associate Producer here at One Minute News.  I observed her as she had the process of editing stories mastered to a T. There was clicking, tagging, pasting and saving. There were tons of short cuts and steps involved. That sentence doesn’t give the task justice at all because I ensure you it is a very tedious task. I learned a lot today from Krittika. One thing I took to heart from working with her is the work done at One Minute News is done as a team. They work together and feed off each others ideas. Its a really creative enviornment and I can’t wait to see what surprises are in store for tomorrow!
